The photoTAN app is a secure and convenient way to approve your orders, such as transfers, in online and mobile banking. It requires the activation of the photoTAN security procedure by scanning a graphic in the activation letter. Once activated, you have two options for approving an order: photoTAN and photoTAN push.

With photoTAN, you simply scan a graphic and enter the generated TAN (transaction number) to confirm and approve the order. For added convenience, the app also offers photoTAN push, where you can directly confirm the order after checking the data.

The security of the photoTAN app is ensured by a PIN of your choice or by using biometric data. This adds an extra layer of protection to your banking transactions.

It is important to note that as of August 25, 2025, it will no longer be possible to set up a new photoTAN security procedure. However, existing photoTAN procedures can still be used. In the future, the BestSign security procedure will replace photoTAN and will be directly set up in the Deutsche Bank app. This means that all your banking and security needs will be available in one convenient app.
