The game allows you to start as a new coach and work your way up to the top, but you must avoid getting fired. You can hire coordinators to your staff and import custom universes, rosters, and coaches from a text file. The game features realistic conference and team structures, bowl games, and a 4-team playoff with an expanded playoffs option. There is a large database of over 7000 first and last names, as well as geographic home regions and optional television contract deals. You can also choose to have conference realignment, random team generation from lower tiers, or a promotion/relegation system mode. The game provides full league, team, coach, and player stats and history, as well as player awards, game summary box scores, and play logging. There are also dynamic news and articles, and material light and dark themes. The game simulation features realistic logic with full game play-by-play logging, mid-season and end-season player progression, and head coach and coordinator positions that affect player progression. You can choose from multiple offense and defensive tactics, and track offensive, defensive, and special teams stats. There is also an off-season coaching changes and infraction system for balancing gameplay, as well as realistic computer poll logic and dynamic school prestige growth and loss. Other features include standard and medical redshirting, undergrad and graduate transfers, player suspensions and dismissals, year-end awards, conference television contracts, and team facilities and a basic monetary system.
