Wizards of the Coast and Playdek have teamed up to bring you the award-winning board game, Lords of Waterdeep, based on the popular Dungeons & Dragons franchise. This game is set in the city of Waterdeep, a place ruled by a secret society of masked Lords who use their political power and shady dealings to control the city. In this game, players take on the role of one of these Lords and must recruit adventurers to complete quests on their behalf. The more quests they complete, the more control and influence they gain over the city.
As players progress through the game, they can expand the city by purchasing buildings that offer new opportunities and strategies. They can also use Intrigue cards to help themselves or hinder their opponents in their quest to become the supreme ruler of Waterdeep. Lords of Waterdeep is a turn-based strategy game that can be played against AI or with up to 5 human players. Each game consists of 8 rounds, where players take turns assigning their agents to different tasks, such as recruiting adventurers or purchasing buildings.
Points and resources are earned by completing quests, playing Intrigue cards, and constructing buildings. At the end of the 8 rounds, bonus points are awarded and the player with the most points wins the game. The game also offers the option to play with expansions, such as Scoundrels of Skullport and Undermountain, which allow for up to 6 players.
Lords of Waterdeep offers various features, including the ability to play against AI opponents, pass and play multiplayer, and asynchronous online play. The game is also a universal application, meaning it can be played on both iPhone and iPad devices. It also supports Retina display for a high-quality gaming experience.
Other features include the option to invite friends to play, online player profiles and statistics, game clocks, an in-game tutorial, and a rule book and card gallery for reference. The game also has animated backgrounds, a player ratings system, and an online player status indicator. Please note that an internet connection and Playdek account are required for online play, and users must be 13 years or older to use the Playdek online games service.
