The Drive Safe & Save app is a helpful tool that can save you money on your car insurance. By signing up and completing the setup steps, you can receive a 10% discount on your insurance. After the initial participation period, your driving habits will determine how much you can save, with the potential to save up to 30%. This app automatically records your trips and provides insights into your driving habits, highlighting areas where you can improve.

As you drive, the app will flag events such as acceleration, braking, cornering, phone distraction, and speed, giving you opportunities to improve your driving. By checking the app regularly, you can see your safety scores, how much you're saving per enrolled vehicle, and the number of recent trips that included driving events. You can also view your trip routes from the last 30 days, the number of recorded trips from the last 14 days, and the number of recorded miles from the last 14 days. The app also offers safe driving tips and information on any eligible or enrolled vehicles on your policy.

In addition to tracking your driving habits, the app also allows you to log in easily using various methods such as user ID and password, biometrics, or your driver's license. You can also change your driver status for trips when you weren't the driver or a passenger used your phone. The tips and how-tos section can help you learn how to use the app's newest features.

State Farm values your privacy and assures that your information will not be sold. The collected data is used to help you create safer driving habits and may also be used to calculate your discount. However, the initial 10% discount will only apply upon enrollment, and setup is required to maintain that discount. After the introductory period, the discount for participating customers may vary from 1-50%, with some state-specific variations. The discount may not be available in North Carolina, depending on individual circumstances, and is not available in California, Massachusetts, or Rhode Island.

Upon enrollment, you will receive a beacon in the mail, which is a required part of the setup process. This beacon works together with the app to accurately record your trips and provide you with the most accurate insights into your driving habits.
