A Europoly game is a digital version of the popular board game that can be played by 2, 3, or 4 players. Each player has a pawn that they use to travel around Europe, buying and auctioning properties. The ultimate goal of the game is to stay financially stable while forcing your opponents into bankruptcy. The game is designed to fit perfectly on your iPhone or iPad, with squares representing European cities, airports, motorways, ferries, casinos, lotteries, and even a jail.
Players take turns rolling two dice and moving clockwise around the board. Landing on or passing the Start square earns the player 5,000¤. Rolling doubles allows the player to roll again, but after three consecutive sets of doubles, they must go to jail. Cities on the board are grouped by color, and if a player owns all the cities in a group, they have a monopoly and can build houses to increase the rent received. Transport squares cannot be developed, but owning multiple squares of the same type increases the rent received.
If a player needs money, they can trade with other players, sell their houses, or mortgage their properties. Mortgaged properties cannot collect rent, but can be unmortgaged by paying the specified amount to the bank. If a player cannot pay their debts, they must declare bankruptcy and the remaining player is declared the winner.
Europoly offers the option to play with other bots or with humans on the same device. The bots have three different levels of Artificial Intelligence, with the highest level being aggressive and tough traders, the intermediate level being more relaxed and offering better deals, and the basic level being more easily tricked. The game is highly configurable, allowing players to choose the number of players, play with bots or humans, select from 9 different avatars, adjust the game speed, and activate in-game sound.
