The second mode, "Name the Note," randomly highlights a position on the fretboard and challenges users to identify the note. The app is fully customizable, allowing users to select their preferred fret range (0-24 frets), target strings (1-6), and note filtering (naturals only, sharps/flats only, or a combination). Users can also toggle between sharp/flat notation and choose the number of questions per session and the time limit for each question.

The app also offers performance tracking, displaying real-time accuracy, elapsed time, and average answer time. At the end of each practice session, a summary is shown, and all settings are saved per mode, eliminating the need to reconfigure every time.
