Google's technical guidelines for Android apps now require that "location" rights be enabled in order for the app to display information about the wireless environment. AVM, the developer of this app, has no control over these guidelines.
We are grateful for all the support and positive ratings we have received since the app's release in August 2018. Your encouragement motivates us to continue improving the app.
It's important to note that the performance and hardware of your Android device can affect the results of the WiFi throughput test. During the test, your wireless LAN may experience slower speeds.
This app requires certain user rights in order to function properly. These include Near Field Communication for wireless connections, Device ID for secure password storage, and access to call information (although this is not actually used by the app). The microphone and camera are also required, but only for a group of functions defined by Google. The app does not use the microphone. Additionally, access to the camera is necessary for reading QR codes, and the vibration and camera flash functions may also be needed for this purpose. The app also requires permission to change system settings, access location information, and manage network connections.
Finally, the app may also need to access your USB storage or SD card in order to share information, and it may need to check for write permissions in these areas. It also requires permission to change network connectivity and save sorting sequences for radio networks. Access to all networks is necessary for querying the FRITZ!Box firmware and model number. Our goal is to provide an original and SEO-oriented experience for our users.
