Hearoes is a unique and interactive platform designed for individuals with hearing loss, cochlear implants, and hearing aids. It aims to improve auditory feedback and aural training by familiarizing users with different environmental sounds and vocabulary. This platform has been developed in collaboration with audiologists and speech pathologists from hospitals, ensuring that it meets the needs of individuals at different stages of their hearing journey.
Hearoes offers a user-centric experience by combining proven assessments used in rehabilitation sessions with gamified activities and interactions. This makes the critical stage of ongoing training less of a chore for individuals with hearing loss. The platform features dynamic pathways covering five key modules and over 50 fun activities, all focused on helping users learn new sounds.
One of the key modules in Hearoes is the Environmental Sounds module, which immerses users in different environments and allows them to hear the sounds around a specific theme, such as in the kitchen or on a farm. Another module, Introduction to Words, helps users learn pitches and syllables associated with words. The Vowels and Consonants module focuses on familiarizing users with the sounds of vowels and consonants in different positions. And the Understanding Sentences module provides progressive narratives in common day scenes, ranging from video clips for lip-reading to audio with background noise.
Hearoes also includes a built-in feedback option, allowing users to share their thoughts and suggestions. This feedback helps the developers continue to improve the platform and create a comfortable and effective product for individuals with hearing loss. With Hearoes, individuals can feel more confident and comfortable in different environments, making their hearing journey a more enjoyable and fulfilling experience.
