This application is a Japanese dictionary that allows users to search for words using various methods such as kanji, kana, romaji, and the Latin alphabet. It also recognizes full sentences and conjugated forms of words. Users can easily search for kanji by selecting multiple radicals. The app offers over 200,000 Japanese words with English translations, example phrases, and conjugations. It also recognizes common misspellings and has a voice audio feature using text-to-speech. In addition to the free features, there is also a paid subscription option called Takoboto Cloud. This allows users to synchronize their lists and study data, backup their lists and translations to the cloud, and access extra online resources such as real voice audio. It also removes ads from the study game. The app offers a variety of other features, including a study game or study quizzes (in beta), kana charts, Japanese grammar links to external websites, and pitch display. Users can also create custom lists of words for review, use flashcards, and add their own translations and contribute new words. There are also ready-made study lists available. The Japanese words in the app are partially translated into many languages, and users can contribute translations directly from the app. Some of the available languages include English, German, Russian, Spanish, Dutch, Hungarian, French, Thai, Portuguese, Indonesian, Swedish, Chinese, Italian, Polish, Finnish, Korean, Persian, Vietnamese, Ukrainian, Arabic, Czech, Danish, Romanian, Slovene, Greek, Lithuanian, Malay, Hindi, Latvian, and Tagalog. The data for this app is sourced from the JMdict project, created by the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group, with special thanks to Jim Breen and others. For those interested in receiving more frequent updates with experimental features (and potential bugs), there is a beta testing option available. Users can subscribe to receive beta versions by following the provided link.
