More About Pocket Sengoku

▼ What is Pocket Sengoku?

In the 16th century, Japan is in a state of turmoil known as the Sengoku period. The shogun's power has weakened, and the country is now ruled by various feudal lords called Daimyos. As a player, you take on the role of one of these Daimyos with the goal of unifying Japan under your rule.

To achieve this, you must build a prosperous country. Your income comes from the castles under your control, which generate agricultural and commercial revenue based on factors such as population, loyalty, and public safety. To increase your income, you can expand your farmland, develop commerce, and show generosity to win the hearts of your people. However, be careful not to let the loyalty of your people drop too low, as this can lead to rebellions.

In times of war, security becomes a major concern. Bandits may appear and threaten the safety of your castles. To combat this, you can build a Magistrate's Office to maintain security. Additionally, building a temple can increase the loyalty of nearby castles through the presence of monks.

Another way to strengthen your country is through diplomacy. You can send goodwill ambassadors to other Daimyos to maintain friendships and potentially form alliances. Allies can be valuable assets in times of war, providing support and protection. Alternatively, you can also intimidate weaker Daimyos and make them your vassals, giving you control over their castles and armies.

Once your economy is stable, it's time to focus on building a strong army. In Pocket Sengoku, each Daimyo can lead 1,000 troops. You can hire more Busyos (generals) to increase the size of your army. There are four types of troops: spear, samurai, musket, and cavalry, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. You can improve the quality of your troops through training and policies.

Battles in Pocket Sengoku are in real-time, with up to 20 generals and 400 troops participating. You can use your ninja to gather information about the enemy's formation and strategically plan your own formation. Morale is crucial in battle, as low morale can lead to decreased abilities and even desertion. To prevent this, you can give your troops a rest if they become demoralized.

Each type of soldier has unique characteristics. Spearmen have strong defense but low attack power, while samurai have a good balance of attack and defense. Muskets are powerful long-range weapons but have low defense, and cavalry are fast and can deliver heavy blows from behind enemy lines.

As a military strategist, it's up to you to use all of these elements to your advantage and become the ultimate ruler of Japan. With a combination of economic prosperity, diplomatic alliances, and a strong army, you can achieve your goal of unifying the country and becoming the most powerful Daimyo in the Sengoku period.
