SailSim - Sailing Simulator

As a Live-Aboard, I wanted to create a sailing simulator that could be used by anyone for learning purposes or for entertainment on rainy days when going out to sea is not possible. The main goal of the simulator is to provide a fun and intuitive way to learn about sailing. With each update, I strive to achieve this goal and make the simulator more enjoyable for users.

The simulator offers a variety of features and options for users to explore and learn from. These include the ability to play with others in a Multi-Player session, collect and share stats, take exams to test your knowledge, try out different sailing vessels, and learn about the different parts of a sailboat. The simulator also offers simple yet instructive courses, marine terminology and sailing equipment, adventures and challenges, and the option to use a keyboard or game controller for navigation.

Currently, the simulator offers three different vessels to choose from: the Laser - Olympic, Catalina 22 - Classic (Fin Keel), and Sabre Spirit 37 - (Fin Keel). Each vessel has its own unique features and controls, allowing users to experience the differences between them.

The sailing simulator applies actual physics to simulate the behavior of a sailing vessel. This means that users must be careful with their actions as they can capsize or sink the vessel. The simulator also takes into account various factors such as wind dynamics, vessel mass, and velocity to provide a realistic experience.
