Before heading south, players must beat a boss further east and reach level 10 with good equipment. Poison is effective against this boss. If players obtain a specific item in the tower before beating the boss, they can recruit a character named Temi in the town with a temple. After defeating the boss, players can also recruit a character named Lyn and head for new land south of the village.
