The Abyss of Slumber

A patient named Licht is brought into the hospital where you work. Despite having no injuries or illness, he is in an unending sleep. The attending physician, Jackson, proposes a radical cure: a device that allows people to enter a patient's dream and retrieve their soul. Jackson and Conrad attempt the procedure, but the machine malfunctions and you, intern Ray, and childhood friend Subaru are unexpectedly pulled into Licht's dream instead.

Inside the dream, you awaken in the orphanage where Licht grew up. However, the orphanage is now twisted into a nightmare, filled with monstrous creatures. As you navigate through this terrifying dream world, you learn more about the characters you are with.

Ray is a brilliant medical student who is constantly under pressure due to high expectations. He was also abused in his childhood and his memories were erased by experiments conducted at the orphanage. Subaru is a cool and reserved high schooler with heterochromatic eyes. He almost lost his life at the hands of his mother and now fears women. Like Ray, his memories were also erased.

Jackson is a determined physician who is searching for his missing sister. He infiltrated the hospital and is gifted, unyielding, and devoted to saving lives. Conrad is a calm and wise pharmaceutical expert who serves as a guide for Jackson. Together, they try to navigate through Licht's dream and find a way to retrieve his soul.

Licht is the mysterious boy at the center of it all. He is cheerful and kind, treating the orphans at the orphanage as his family. However, he is also an amnesiac and later learns that his father was the one who ran the experiments at the orphanage. As you all work together to find a way out of the nightmare and save Licht's soul, you uncover more secrets and mysteries surrounding the characters and the dream world.
