TV Remote for Sony TV

This application allows you to control your Sony TV using either network IP control or infrared (IR) control. With IR control, you can use your phone or tablet's built-in IR blaster to control your TV without the need for WiFi or setup. This feature is compatible with a variety of devices, including Samsung Galaxy S series, HTC ONE, LG G3/G4/G5, Xiaomi Mi / Redmi / Note, Huawei Mate / Honor, and more. It works on original Android 4.4+ firmware, but may not work on devices running CM/LineageOS. The IR blaster must be pointed directly at the TV and has a working range of 4-10ft (1-3 meters).

For network IP control, your Sony TV must be turned on and connected to the same local/home network as your mobile device. You will also need to make sure that "Remote Device" / "Renderer" is set to [On] in the TV's settings. If you have previously refused the registering/pairing confirmation message on your TV, you can change your selection later in the TV's settings. If the TV is not found, you can manually enter the TV's IP address in the app. A list of compatible TVs is provided, including models from 2011 to 2016.

This app is not meant to replace the original TV remote, but can be useful in emergency situations such as a lost remote or dead batteries.
