Tylogram is a word puzzle game that challenges players to find the pangram, or a sentence that uses all eight letters in the grid, and earn ranks such as Master Wordsmith or Grand Lexicographer. It is the perfect pastime for fans of spelling bees and word games. The objective of the game is to form as many words as possible using the given letters and arrange them in a way that maximizes their point values.
To form words, players can tap or click on the tiles, or type using their keyboard. Each word must include the shaded anchor letter. The score for each word is based on the value of each tile in the grid, with the center square being worth 4 points for each occurrence in the word.
Players can change the values of the tiles by sliding them, either by swiping or using the arrow keys on their keyboard. This affects the entire word list, so the score may go up or down depending on the changes made. The × square is worth 0 points, while the anchor letter is always worth 0 points, even on a numbered square. However, on the × square, its value is -1 point.
A pangram, which uses all eight letters at least once, is worth double the points. Only valid English words are accepted, and hyphenated words or words that are only meaningful as part of a multiword phrase are not allowed. Proper nouns and adjectives are also not accepted, unless they have a common uncapitalized sense. Foreign words are only accepted if they have been adopted into English.
Some puzzles may include a bonus question with one or more answers. Finding all the bonus answers is worth 120 points. The goal is to meet or surpass the score set by the game for each puzzle. A new challenge is available every Tuesday and Friday. Good luck and try to be original and SEO-oriented in your word choices!
