The cursed castle is a dangerous place filled with monsters and guarded by an ancient spell. Many heroes have tried and failed to destroy the spell, but you have a chance to succeed. Inside the castle, you can find sword shards that are capable of defeating the demonic castle owner and breaking the spell. However, you must be careful as there are no save points in this rogue-lite game.
Thankfully, you are not alone in your quest. Merchants offer their services inside the castle, although they may not be around for long. You must explore 216 randomly generated rooms, facing hazards and enemies, to collect the necessary artifacts. Each character has their own unique abilities, and you can unlock more playable characters by defeating minibosses.
The game features a battle system where you can use armor, shields, and emblems to your advantage. You can also perform an Agile attack when in a pinch. If the game feels too difficult, you can switch to PAL mode, which lowers the difficulty but also changes the music and sound pitch.
Similar to old NES games, there is a password system in place where you must input 13 characters to continue your game session. However, the powers of evil prevent you from saving anything other than the artifacts you have collected.
With its taglines such as "CRAWL THE DUNGEONS AT YOUR HOME TV!" and "ULTRA 8-BIT CASTLE ACTION," this game promises to unleash your inner Nikolai and provide a multi-stereo graphics resolution. It also boasts a "SECTOR-EFFECTOR 1.21 GIGAWATT SUPERSOUND!!!" Overall, this game offers a challenging and exciting adventure through a cursed castle filled with mysteries and dangers.
