But what about images and videos without metadata? Don't worry, Image & Video Date Fixer has a solution for those as well. In the absence of metadata, the app can use the date from the file name, if available. This is especially useful for images downloaded from apps like WhatsApp. Additionally, the app also saves EXIF or quicktime metadata for both images and videos, ensuring that your media is properly organized.

Aside from correcting the file modification date, Image & Video Date Fixer also offers the option to change the date for multiple images at once. This can be done manually, by setting a specific date or time, or by incrementing the date by days, hours, minutes, or seconds. The app also allows you to apply a time difference or set EXIF or quicktime metadata based on the file modification date.

Some apps, like Instagram and Facebook, use the creation date to sort images, which cannot be changed. However, Image & Video Date Fixer can still restore the correct order by temporarily moving the images and videos to another folder, sorting them by the date they were taken, and then moving them back to their original location. This ensures that the images and videos are in the correct chronological order, even though new creation dates are created with today's date.

Image & Video Date Fixer offers both free and premium options. The free version allows you to correct 50 files per run, while the premium version allows for more files to be corrected at once. The premium version also offers the ability to correct Facebook and Instagram galleries, which sort by creation date.

It is important to note that the app may require the android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE permission in order to prevent the process from being interrupted and causing incorrect results. This is necessary because processing all of your files can take several minutes or even hours, depending on the amount of media and storage selected. A status bar notification will be shown while the service is running to keep you updated on the progress.
