More About FTP Server

A powerful application allows you to run FTP Server on your Android device and help your friend or you to access/share files over the Internet.

This application, also known as WiFi file transfer or wireless file management, allows users to transfer files over a network using various interfaces on their device, such as Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and Tethering. It supports multiple FTP users, including an anonymous user, and allows each user to choose whether to show hidden files or not. Users can also set read-only or full write access for each path, and the application supports both passive and active modes for simultaneous file transfer.

The application also has the ability to automatically open ports on a user's router, allowing them to access their files from anywhere in the world. A list of tested routers can be found in the Help section of the application. Users can also set the application to automatically start the FTP server when a specific Wi-Fi network is connected or on boot.

The application also has public intents to support scripting and Tasker integration. Users can add a new Task Action and choose the appropriate package and class to start or stop the server, or enable/disable the feature to automatically open ports on the router.

The Home screen allows users to control server configurations, monitor connected clients, change ports and idle timeout settings, and enable features such as automatically starting on specific Wi-Fi networks or on boot. The User Management screen allows users to manage and enable/disable users, set access paths, and delete users. The About screen provides information about the application.

This FTP Server can be accessed by any FTP client on Windows, Mac OS, Linux, or even through a browser. Some tested clients include FileZilla, Windows Explorer, Finder, Total Commander, and various Android file managers and web browsers.

The application also supports passive ports, with a range from the initial port to the next 128 ports if UPnP is enabled, or the next 256 ports if UPnP is disabled.

Users should note that the application may not function as expected if doze mode is activated. The application requires certain permissions, such as WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, and ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, and may also require location permission for automatic server start on Wi-Fi detection on Android P and above.

If users encounter any problems or have feedback for the developer, they can contact support via email. Negative comments will not help the developer solve any issues. The application also has a privacy policy that can be found on the developer's website.
