CheqUPI is a digital payment application that offers fast and secure transactions through UPI. With over 55 million merchants across India, users can easily scan QR codes and make payments. To get started with CheqUPI, users simply need to download the app and sign up using an international or Indian phone number. There is a one-time activation fee and in-person verification process that needs to be completed before making any transactions. This can be done by visiting partner branches or booking an agent. Users can then top-up their wallet and make their first UPI payment. It is important to note that currently, foreign nationals from countries on the FATF list and FATF grey list are not permitted to use the app. Additionally, due to regulations, the app can only be used within Indian borders. The app's servers detect the user's location and restrict transactions from outside of India. The in-person verification process requires specific documents depending on the user's nationality, such as a passport, valid Indian visa, OCI card, or valid foreign country ID. Payments through CheqUPI can only be made to registered merchants, and individual (P2P) payments are not permitted. The app is powered by Transcorp International Limited, an RBI regulated PPI license and AD2 license holder. This ensures that user data and money are stored safely and securely within India. The app also ensures that user's money is safely parked in an RBI approved bank account hosted with Transcorp International Limited.
