Our application is designed to communicate with a variety of boards and devices, including Arduino, ESP8266 and ESP32 boards, NodeMCU, and more. These devices typically have a USB connector and a chip that enables USB to Serial communication. To connect your phone to these devices, your phone must have USB OTG functionality and be able to provide power to the connected USB device. This is a common feature in most modern phones. You will also need a USB OTG adapter cable, which you can test by connecting a computer mouse. A normal USB data cable is then used to connect your embedded board or device to the OTG adapter. It's important to note that a symmetrical USB C to USB C cable may not work, so it's best to use a normal cable and OTG adapter. Some older boards or devices may not have a USB port, but instead have an RS-232 port, RS-485 port, or UART pins where you can solder a connector. In this case, you will need an external USB to Serial adapter. These adapters can be easily purchased online and typically have a chip inside that enables USB to Serial communication. Our app is compatible with a variety of chips, including FTDI, PL2303, CP210x, CH34x, and others that implement the standard CDC ACM. The app offers a range of features, such as the ability to configure the data format (text or hexadecimal) separately for the terminal screen and command input. It also has a local echo function, allowing you to see what you have sent. The app also includes an Rx Tx counter, adjustable baud rate and byte delay, and adjustable font size. Additionally, it offers configurable macro buttons with unlimited rows and buttons. The macro buttons can be easily configured, allowing you to add or delete rows and buttons, set button text, and add or delete button commands. Each button can have an unlimited number of commands, which will be executed in sequence. You can also export all buttons to a JSON file and import buttons from a JSON file. Some of the available macro commands include sending text or hexadecimal, inserting text or hexadecimal, recalling previous or next commands, adding a delay in milliseconds or microseconds, clearing the terminal, connecting or disconnecting, and setting the baud rate or byte delay.
